I just wanted to talk for a moment on the importance of being online. And I don’t just mean any old online, I mean Google. Specifically.
Just a quick recap of what search engines are out there… so there’s Google, and there’s ummmm…
OK, so that’s probably a little harsh, but check out these latest stats from Stat Counter… Google has a nearly 95% market share in Oceania. Let’s take a minute for that to sink in. The next closest rival is Bing, who standing on its tippy toes still can’t quite reach 4%.
Everyone needs a web presence in some way these days, we know that. But the strength of Google and the importance it has for your business is huge. Not only are their algorithms constantly changing and updating to keep their search results the most relevant for their user base, but if you play ball with their various apps and platforms then they are far more likely to reciprocate the favour and show your site to more users.
In the coming weeks I am going to be writing about the different services that Google offer and how they can play into your marketing and business strategies. If you are a local retail or hospitality business then Google plays a massive role for you, but in a completely different way to say a coaching service or an online directory.
